About Engel Leonardo

Artista da República Dominicana cujos trabalhos incluem escultura, instalação, intervenção e ready-mades, muitas vezes abordando temas relacionados à mudança climática, arquitetura e cultura popular do Caribe. É formado pela Faculdade de Arte da Universidade Autônoma de Santo Domingo, com estudos complementares na Escola de Design de Altos de Chavón, associada à Parsons School of Design. Participou de programas de residência artística na Pivô, São Paulo (2017), Gasworks, Londres (2016) e Red Gate, Pequim (2015). Seus trabalhos foram apresentados em exposições como United States of Latin America, MOCAD, Detroit (2015); Emergencia, TEOR/éTica, Costa Rica (2014); e na 27ª Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuais, MAM, Santo Domingo (2013). Artist from the Dominican Republic, his works include sculpture, installation, intervention and ready-mades, often addressing themes related to climate change, architecture and popular culture in the Caribbean. Leonardo holds a degree from the Faculty of Art of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, with complementary studies in the Altos de Chavón School of Design, associated with the Parsons School of Design. He participated in artist residency programs at Pivô, São Paulo (2017), Gasworks, London (2016) and Red Gate, Beijing (2015). His works have been featured in such exhibitions as United States of Latin America, MOCAD, Detroit (2015) ; Emergencia, TEOR/éTica, Costa Rica (2014) ; 27th National Biennial of Visual Arts, MAM, Santo Domingo (2013).
