Karol Radziszewski > Queer Archives Institute

My text “In Search For Queer Ancestors” was just published in the new L’Internationale EPUB “Decolonising Archives” and it is ready to download. It’s describing my archives related practice, DIK Fagazine magazine (that I’m running since 2005) and is introducing the new project: the Queer Archives Institute. The QAI was established on 15 November 2015, that is to say on the thirtieth anniversary of Operation Hyacinth in Poland (a comprehensive campaign carried out by the Civic Militia in the People’s Republic of Poland, which consisted in gathering data on Polish gay men and their community, as a result of which ca. 11 000 personal files were registered). The Queer Archives Institute official inauguration will be my exhibition that is opening at Videobrasil on the 2nd of April 2016.
